- Avoid cleansers that can be rough on your skin. Don’t over do it on your face wash, get mild, non detergent cleansers such as gels or foams. Make sure to look for any ingredients that are plant derived and gentle for your skin.
- Go for the fragrance free option. This is the leading cause skin-related allergic reactions. Unscented product typically do contain small amounts of fragrance to mask the odors of active ingredients. Make sure to choose products labeled “fragrance free”.
- Multipurpose moisturizers. Find yourself a moisturizer that will protect and hydrate your skin. Again, choose a moisturizer with plant based ingredients and essential fatty acids. Any antioxidants that contain bioflavonoids and other beneficial compounds can do wonders for your skin as far as hydration and protection go.
- Drink plenty of water. I can’t stress it enough, drinking lots of water on a daily basis will help you to solve all of your skincare problems! Water helps to keep your skin hydrated throughout the day and keep your skin glowing and looking healthy!
- Minimal Makeup. Foundation, especially, can clog your pores a fine thin coating is okay but don’t overdo it on your foundation, finishing powders, blushes or anything else that can help to clog your pores.
- Exfoliate, exfoliate, exfoliate. This should be done at least twice a week to see positive results. By scrubbing your face it removes dead skin cells and impurities that might have clogged your pores leading to acne breakouts, blackheads and whiteheads.
